Auguste Comte in the 3rd arrondissement

5 rue Payenne.

'CHAPELLE
DE
LUMANITÉ

MONUMENT HISTORIQUE'

The Chapelle de Humanité was built by Brazilian positivists in 1903, being a smaller replica of the Templo da Humanidade in Rio de Janeiro. Auguste Comte (1789–1857), the founder of positivism, had drawn up the plans but was of course unable to see the building in his lifetime.
